Yes Christmas is just around the corner, ok it’s 2 months away, but in the lead up to Christmas we’re looking at the Book of Ruth together.

Ruth is an amazing Old Testament book. Although it’s only 4 chapters long Ruth so beautifully points us in so many ways to our Redeemer, the Lord Jesus.

Right after Ephesians, as we edge closer to celebrating the birth of Jesus, let’s be reminded together through the words of Ruth of this great Redeemer that we have.

This week we’re continuing our series through Ephesians, looking this Sunday at being “Rescued to be a New Creation”.

The love of God that we saw so powerfully last week is a love that has rescued us by grace, saving us out of lives of sin & death to become a new creation in Christ.

As we unpack this passage together, we’ll see how we’re rescued from being dead in our transgressions & sins, how this rescue comes by God’s grace, & lastly how as a new creation in Christ we’re enabled to represent God.

come & join us,

Today we began a new sermon series on the book of Ephesians.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the early Christians in Ephesus, reminding them of the great God who saved them & what that means for their everyday lives.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ– by grace you have been saved– & raised us up with him & seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesian 2:4-10 ESV)

Today we opened up chapter 1 together & saw “How God Loved Us”; God’s love is so unfathomable, & yet his love was shown so clearly on the Cross as Jesus died to bring us forgiveness, righteousness, & right relationship with God, adopted into his family as sons & daughter.

Join us over the coming weeks as we dive deeper into this great letter.
