Sundays at CPC
8:30 Church – Traditional & Classic
If you know and love the traditional hymns played through the great sounds of the pipe organ, you will feel right at home at our 8.30am service. Though the style is more traditional, the welcome is genuine and warm. The Word is clearly preached, with the same sermon that is later given at the 10am service. At our 8.30 service we join together for a time of prayer; an opportunity to praise God for the grace and love he has given us through the Lord Jesus and to pray for our community and our city. Reading the Bible at 8.30am, just like at 10am, is an essential part of our time together. For those new to reading the Bible, we have Bibles available with the page numbers of our reading provided, but we’d love to see you bring and use your own Bibles. After the service please feel free to join us for morning tea. Wheelchair and pram access is also available via the side entrance on Letchworth Road.
On Sunday mornings at CPC we gather together to acknowledge and celebrate that Jesus is our King. Whether you have been a follower of Jesus for a long time or are just curious to find out what Christianity is all about, we would love you to visit us this or any Sunday. We will warmly and genuinely welcome you and make you feel at home during and after the service. We know many people aren’t too sure what church is about, and so we try to explain things as we go along in non “in house” language. Our pastors work hard at trying to make the talk from the Bible easy to understand and relevant and interesting, to show clearly just why it is that real life is in Jesus. Our 10am service is supported by a range of contemporary songs played by either a guitar and/or a piano, that help teach, encourage and remind us of who God, who Jesus is, and what God has done for His people through the Lord Jesus Christ. Singing songs are a vital part of worshiping God, something we want to embrace at CPC. During the service children three years and older enjoy their own Children’s Church, where they receive excellent age-appropriate teaching in a fun and safe environment. Children under the age of 3, or those who prefer to stay with their parents, are most welcome to stay for the duration of the service (kids’ packs are available). There is an easily accessible change and play area for young children that has audio and visual links to the main meeting. After the service we share coffee together in a relaxed environment that fosters community building.
Held at 5pm on the last Sunday of every month, BBQ church is a great way to get to know people better in a relaxed environment. Join us for a BBQ dinner and an intimate discussion around the Bible.
