What’s On

Next Sunday we finally unpack the last chapter of the Apostle Peter’s first letter to the Christian Church, dispersed across the known world by God in order that the gospel be lived out, clung to and exampled for the world to see and believe in.

We close Peter’s letter with a call to ‘be who you are called to be’, with Peter urging Christians everywhere to step up in faith and to stand firm in hope, and live as God’s people in every situation. Peter takes us into the roles of both elders and young people, those that lead and those that follow, to show us that we must live out the calling we have in order that we as a community of believers, as the church, can stand firm against the tempting lure and it’s damaging consequences, of the ‘prowling lion’ that is Satan.

Join us at 8:30am or 10:00am to finish this great letter together.

ThessaloniansPromoBeginning on Sunday 25th August is our new sermon series unpacking the book of 1 Thessalonians.

Join us on Sundays to see how the Apostle Paul shows us the Shape of the Gospel through his letter of encouragement and teaching to the Christians in the city of Thessalonica.

Coming up bright and early on the morning of Saturday the 17th is our next Men’s Breakfast.

Join us for a great hot breakfast from snags to hash browns, to eggs and crispy bacon, or simple enjoy a smooth espresso coffee and a delicious bowl of cereal.

The morning will be a fantastic opportunity to chat and enjoy each others company and a chance to read the bible together and to encourage one another in faith in Jesus.

Breakfast is available from 7:30 and is a free breakfast but we welcome donations to help cover costs.

Beginning this Sunday at the same time as our regular Children’s Church, is our new creche for those kids not yet in school. With our number of kids ready for a creche steadily growing, it was decided to launch them into a group of their own.

During creche the kids will explore the Bible, learn songs and interact through craft and play, all focused to teach about the real life and hope that is only found in Jesus.

Our Creche kids will head out with their leaders at the same time as the older kids, after the Kids Talk and Song during 10am Church.

We launched the Marriage Course last Wednesday night with a great night.

Four couples invested into their relationships with a romantic date night of beautiful food and conversations set within comfortable surroundings. The night was hosted by a couple from CPC and backed by the Marriage Course DVD series.

With no group work, but individual couple time to talk and discuss, this course is the ultimate opportunity to build and grow your marriage into a stronger bond.

For information on our next course, please contact us.

After a few weeks in recess, Phil Case will be taking us back into the Old Testament book of Exodus to finish his series: “Exodus, Out of Egypt”.

We were left with the Israelites standing in awe having come face to face with their God at the mountain and receiving His law. Now Phil shows us the journey from the mountain to the Promised Land and what that teaches us today.

Join us for Exodus:
14th, 21st & 28th July; 4th & 11th August.

To kick start Night Shift for term 3, we’d like to invite you to join us for a BBQ.

Our “Welcome BBQ” is aimed at encouraging our new families at CPC to check out our youth group and also for those already coming to start back in style while also inviting their friends.

We’ll have a BBQ dinner and enjoy some awesome Night Shift games, plus we’ll take a look at the Bible and see what we’ll be discussing over the new few weeks.

For more information feel free to email Rob Davey through the Contact Us page.

Our Student Pastor Rob Davey has launched into a new Mini-Series through the book of 1 Peter, “Citizens of Hope; Living as Followers of Jesus”.

Peter is writing to exiled Christians, urging them to remain firm in their great hope in Jesus; trusting in God and living with confidence as His people, particularly through suffering. Christians are called to live out of their identity as God’s elect, chosen and united by hope regardless of the circumstance. Peter reminds us first what God has done in Jesus, than how that applies and must be demonstrated in the life of Jesus followers.

Join us for our 1 Peter mini-series|
23rd & 30th July; 13th, 20th & 27th October.

Revelation reduced

At the close of the 1st century, John writes to a group of small, weak and confused churches. Faced with persecution, tantalizing false teaching and alluring idolatry, they’re in an epic battle not to compromise.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the church in Australia is also small, weak and confused, and she shares the same battle.

In the face of overwhelming odds, John encourages them, and Christians in all times, to overcome because of the One who overcame. The battle will be long and hard, but to the one who overcomes in Jesus, the struggle will be so worth it.

Beginning Sunday 3rd of March, come along and hear God’s promise to the one who overcomes.
